My City

I live in Austin TX and I’ve lived here all my life. There are lots of things to do in Austin and I’m excited to share some of them with you. Some people may think that Texas is a flat, brown plain populated by the occasional cactus. This if far from the truth. Austin TX is a bustling city filled with lush, green trees and tall grass. The city itself is amazing to look at. It’s full of huge skyscrapers and surrounded by man made rivers. I love Austin because it’s green and natural and not just your average concrete jungle.

Austin is also full of fun things to do. You can hike through the hills in the famous hill country or swim in a cool, clear spring. I love to take a long hike in the hills and then soak in a nice refreshing pool of water. You can also kayak or paddle board on Ladybird lake. I personally love to explore the river beds after the water has dried up because you never know what you might find. I have found fishhooks, strange rocks and many other treasures. You can also spot red tail hawks, deer and rabbits. If you look in the right place you might even see an armadillo.

If nature is not your fancy, there are many other activities to entertain you. The city is host to ritzy restaurants, each containing 100’s of scrumptious meals. You can order anything form a good old fashion hamburger, regional Tex-mex,or sea urchins at one of the swankiest sushi restaurants around. There Is also the Long center; where you can see campy musicals or solemn operas. You could eat at any establishment and then hop right across the river for a show. Last of all you will be astounded at the absolutely insane quantity of live music! Country, rock, pop; anything you can think of! It’s all here. These, my friends, are the reasons you should come visit Austin and the reasons I plan to never leave.

  3. Wow, Austin sounds like a really cool place. I am personally from MA and have never seen any of these things but the way you described them was amazing. One suggestion I have is maybe you could add a picture on the post or a video to enhance the visual effect. Here’s a link to my blog. http://kevins19.edublogs.org/
