A Far Cry from a Relaxing Vacation

Imagine that you have just landed on an island paradise called Rook Island. You and your friends decide to go skydiving soon after sailing into port. The next day you are given a ride to the skydiving center by a local hunter named Vaas.

After you arrive at you destination, you are ambushed by pirates and knocked out. When you wake up, you find out Vaas is actually running the largest slave trading system in the Pacific.

You are about to be loaded into a truck to be taken to be sold by pirates, but you escape into the jungle with a machete! The only question is what do you do now: save your friends or escape the island?
(Far Cry 3 is a real game where this actually happens. It’s rated M thought so don’t buy it without permission.)

Leave what you think you would do in the comments.

  1. Rhys another exciting and exuberant posting! You write with such rich emotion and realistic description. As a writer, you make me feel I’m on that terrifying island and that is not a place I would like to spend a vacation. Not to mention the picture of that guy with his penetrating eyes is just creepy. Appreciate that I don’t have to yell at you to get your homework done. Keep of the great work in English! Mom

  2. Rhys, can you do both? Save your friends and escape the island. Knowing how you consider different options, I think you would plan carefully and be successful your choice. I also think I know what your choice would be.

ps: I suppose the main character has to survive the jump into the raging water far below.
